To control its environmental impact, Michelin carried out a global assessment of its operations and products and this led it to focus on developing technologies aimed at reducing its tyres’ rolling resistance, increasing tyre life to reduce the number of end-of-life tyres to be processed and using raw materials that have a low environmental impact.

The focus on tyre life is clearly illustrated by the fact that Michelin employs independent test bodies such as TUV and DEKRA to test its tyres against its competitors to prove that they last longer, improve fuel consumption and help reduce vehicle CO2 emissions. This is clearly demonstrated by the Company’s latest tyre, the Michelin Primacy 3, which not only offers excellent environmental performance but is one of the safest tyres on the market.

Michelin’s current product range includes low rolling resistance tyres for cars, 4x4s, vans and trucks. This means that whatever the type of fleet, Michelin can help reduce its environmental impact and cut fuel and tyre costs.
